My Vision
I believe we’re witnessing a fundamental shift in healthcare. While some see it as technological, it’s really a cultural transformation driven by rapid technological change.Â
For generations, healthcare was centered on a straightforward, dualistic relationship between doctors and patients, with clearly defined roles.Â
Today, a new participant joined the conversation: Artificial intelligence.
Patients arrive with AI-generated insights, wearable data, insights from online communities, and increasing access to medical information. Physicians are adjusting to shifting expectations, emerging technologies, and evolving roles within the profession. Healthcare organizations must navigate the challenge of preparing for a future that is already unfolding.
Many people view this transformation mainly as a technological revolution, but I see it differently. I believe that the future of healthcare will ultimately be a human challenge.
Intead of the usual questions like How powerful will artificial intelligence become? (Very)
How many new technologies will emerge? (Many)
How rapidly will healthcare evolve? ( Real quick)
The most crucial question is:
How can we help people navigate these changes confidently, wisely, and with compassion?
That question sits at the center of everything I do.

Why Minds on Medicine- The Futures of Care Exists
Futures of Care was created to help patients, physicians, and healthcare organizations prepare for what comes next through education, professional foresight, communication, and practical action.
The future of healthcare won’t rely solely on technology; it will depend on the people who learn to work alongside it.

When I’m not contemplating the future of healthcare, I’m often busy negotiating life choices with my Australian Shepherd, Eliott, who usually isn’t convinced by most of my strategic plans.
For a more personal perspective, I write regularly on Substack, about healthcare, technology, creativity, resilience, a life between cultures, Â and exploring what it means to create a meaningful life amid uncertainty.
